Good morning!
It’s Thursday and I was scheduled to get my new router from Verizon so I should be able to post regularly again shortly. I say “should”. You never know. That’s basically why I’m just getting this done Wednesday at lunch. If you see that sentence, you know my router upgrade didn’t go as planned. I’m back baby! Awesome!!
Regardless, looks like Ruby has Rick’s number with this gaming thing. Rick’s not accustomed to losing so this may get ugly.

Careful Rick you’re liable to bust a blood vessel there. Man, Rick’s gotta learn to step up and get the game back into his control. Rick, the next time it’s your turn just yell out something, UNO!!, SKIPBO!!….anything to set yourself as the winner long before Ruby can get a turn. But be careful how you approach this, Louie and Buddie can’t be too far away, and if Ruby needs re-enforcements that might not fair to well for ya. Last time they ran you out of a tree, imagine what they could do to ya will board game pieces. YIKES!!!
Another great strip today, reminds me of playing games with my niece when she was younger, and with the boys now. They always want to win, and if you want to keep them interested in the game you tend to let them do so; but dang Rick’s gettin’ schooled like never before if my boys did that I might have to bring the hurt and pull out the Hungry, Hungry hippos.
I really like panel two, seeing Rick angry is very cool to me. The fact that his rounded hands become almost rectangular, and now the veins in his eyes and the gritting of his teeth. Ruby’s victory dance in panel 3 is very well drawn as well, great job.
One thing I’ve been struggling with is the backgrounds, they seem to be getting lighter than they were in the past, and it becomes difficult to see exactly what is going on behind. I know that’s not the focus point, but in Panel 3 and 4 they just about disappear all together.

I’m happy with the way the hands come out when he’s angry or frustrated and I think they’re going to stay. I played around with some different perspectives in this one.
You’re right about the backgrounds – I will definitely darken them up. Thanks again for pointing that out. I was looking at that this morning too.
He needs to yell out Pafigiliano and dance around, maybe Yatzee.
Greeeeaaat. Now I have to google Pafigiliano. Sheesh!
