Good morning,
I was kinda worried that today’s strip was in bad taste with everything that’s going on with the economy, but I didn’t mean it in a bad way. I actually have rewritten it a couple of times (EDIT: aaaaand once more an hour before it goes live…sigh). Hopefully it’s funny and not offensive.
Quick note: I didn’t want to ignore that today is a significant day in our country’s modern history – remember all the men and women fighting against terrorism that struck home eight years ago and the defenseless people that lost their lives on that tragic day.

Rick the Stick is a webcomic – true that.
Wow, not the kinda pool I was expecting. Well at least Rick is staying positive about being laid off from a job he never had. That’s one pool a lot of folks have been in lately, but fortunately it’s a pool a lot of folks are now getting out of. Maybe it’s because I put that Baby Ruth in there, that tends to get a lot of folks out of pools so I just thought I’d try it on the layoff pool.
Whoa – Caddyshack reference!!!
Offices seem to have a way of morphing the definitions of words. Pools should be fun “cement ponds”! Layoff sounds like it should be a compound word for “nice break”! Layoff Pool: not typically fun or a nice break. Rick’s misunderstanding could be taking a stand or maybe he didn’t go into the office to often to pick up the lingo.
Interesting Rob, veeeerry interesting…
