damndest Awk tawk

Good morning!

I have two items of note today. The first is something I previewed a few weeks ago and it’s a review of Dave Reddick’s ‘Legend of Bill’. If you didn’t check it out then, you really need to head over there. I love the style of the artwork and the strip revolves around – you guessed it – a guy named Bill.

Bill is – well, I’ll let Dave tell it: “Legend of Bill is about wannabe barbarian Bill and his best pal Frank the blue dragon, who, unsatisfied with their mundane lives as file clerk interns in the local castle accounting department, decide to set off for adventure in the free-as-a-bird life of a roaming barbarian and his dragon… and man are THEY in for a big wake-up call!!! Along the way, they meet Princess Gina, a tough as nails warrior princess on a mission, the Dark Queen, who has a thing for Bill, and a gob more oddball characters on their shameless quest for adventure!”

As a reminder, here’s a bit of what I said back in May: “I’m genuinely excited about the comic I’m going to be reviewing because I honestly have been meaning to check out this strip for a while – it’s David Reddick’s ‘Legend of Bill‘. While David’s name may not roll off your tongue, you may have heard of the man he works for Jim Davis. Jim Davis – the creator of Garfield. Pretty cool – actually – VERY cool! If you’re up for it, head over to give ‘Legend of Bill‘ a shot as well (just promise to come back here every day) and tell him I sent ya!!”

Soooo, why do I like it? I love the premise and like I said, the free flowing artistic style, the wackyness of Bill and well, put it this way, the Princess and Dark Queen are easy on the eyes! The first time I went over to the site, I read around 30 of the strips. I had to stop myself because it was 2am and I had to get up at 5. That’s good stuff if you have to drag yourself away from a webcomic!! Do yourself a favor and head on over there.

The second item of note is that I did a piece of guest art for Union of Heroes which you can view it on their site (a smaller sized image to fit into their format), or you can check it out here in all it’s full size glory (you just have to click on the image on the ‘Guest Art‘ page. I appreciate the opportunity by Arne to use my art over there. Arne just celebrated the birth of a child and asked for Guest Art to help out for a short time.

Ken

You know what would be great? If you signed up for the strip. You know – getting it in your email every weekday morning. I mean we work hard to deliver the mediocrity every weekday, the least you could do is sign up and delete it every day. Is that too much to ask? Huh? What? It is a lot? Okay, fair enough. How about signing someone else up. Of course they’ll have to validate it by simply clicking on a link – just tell them they won something. If they insist on you telling them what they won tell them that it’s something REALLY cool and if they apply it for 30 days, they’re guaranteed to notice a differencee – then just leave it at that!! Get on it! CLICK HERE NOW and fill in your email address – SPAM FREE!!! And thank you!

Rick the Stick….a face worth forgetting. Congrats on the Union of Heroes cross over. I’ve been perusing the other web comics from this site and “Legend of Bill” is really one I’ve enjoyed. The Web Collective is really turning into a great opportunity to get more and more web comics brought to our attention, thanks for the links Ken.
