That guy has no idea what kind of racket these kids REALLY are making!! Although I do have to admit, once I joined in on yelling for help, I think as a group we really came together - vocally that is...Danger Stranger

damndest Danger Stranger

Good morning,

Hey hey!! A buzzer beater again today! WOOHOO!

Thanks to yesterday’s commenter “Anonymous” for helping me recall the safe word for kids “Danger Stranger”. I have some news – not sure if it’s good or bad, but I’m leaning towards taking the first two weeks of November and running the sketches and other fun stuff.

This serves two things:

First: after 435 consecutive weekday comics, we get to recharge the old batteries a bit.
Second: we get to build up a much needed buffer – both with writing and drawing.

My apologies for anyone this disappoints, but I’d rather take the short break and include some art I’ve been saving up than burn out. I think I’ve been trying to hard with the writing. A good friend suggested I keep the storylines to two weeks and I’m going to use my time off to consider the best approach for that. If you have any comments – I’d love to hear them. I appreciate the time everyone spends checking in on Rick every day and I’d hate to lose that continuity, but again, it’s for the best.

Have a fantastical day!!

And as always – thanks for dropping by!
Ken

Haha! Holy fricking mole – the kids are brilliantly evil.

I’m glad they’re on my side… for now!

Those kids are not only fast, but you’re right – brilliant. Makes me wonder how Rick got away from them the first time…

      • Rick the Stick

I thought I just dreamt those kids up!! Does that mean it wasn’t a dream? Whoa…

Wahoo Barney’s on the job now. The triplets are awesome, that’ll definitely get the law into that van for sure. I really enjoy how the rascal in the middles shirt changes. It subtle things like this that make this strip so much fun. Those kids are a good allie to have, definitely don’t cross em.

Well sure miss the strips while your off for the two weeks, but well still be watching the site for sketches and other goodies. We all have to take time off from time to time to recharge the ole brain pan, so don’t apologize for doin what’s best for you. Go enjoy a break we’ll be here when you get back. Like Elliot said to E.T., “I’ll be right here.” well minus the pointing to your heart and all, that would be reall awkward.

Have gr8 day everyone. Go get that Candy and save those tots.

    • Rick the Stick

It was a brilliant move by the kids because I was starting to get hungry – we need to get in that van!!

    • Ken Drab

Thanks Todd. While I may not be posting any new comics, I’ll definitely be working on the strip – please don’t tell my wife!

      • Rick the Stick

Wait. What?? We’re taking time off? WHY WASN’T I TOLD ABOUT THIS!! GET MY AGENT ON THE PHONE!!!

And people say brilliant evilness cant be harnessed, just look at Dexter. And yes I just compared the kids to a serial killer that kills serial killers. They will grow up someday. And you know what they say “Don’t hit kids… No seriously they have guns”

Good job and like Todd said we’ll be here when you get off your lazy ass and get back on the ball. I’m just paraphrasing Todd really. :)

    • Rick the Stick

Those kids are cereal killers? That may explain why they’re so hyper!!

    • Ken Drab

Dexter? That’s one show I’ve been dying to check out… It’s funny what you said about kids growing up. Parents sometimes forget who’s going to take care of them someday!!

Oh and Rick – it’s serial not cereal.
