Rick The Stick – The Webcomic

Happy Humpday everyone!

I’m taking a small break today because it happens to be the day I was born on. I am older than dirt and I know this because the dinosaur next to me just told me so. I’m posting today’s and tomorrow’s tonight (Tuesday) so I can have my planned “Family Day” tomorrow night. It was eight years ago today (Wednesday), my wife and I picked out our two dogs. Some may say “trial run on having kids”. Anyway, we’ve treated (read spoiled) them as such and now they have had to take a slight back seat to our son who is nearly 15 weeks old. Every November 12th we have “Family Day” and it’s a bright spot on my calendar because I am a very lucky man. So I’m going to spend some much needed time with my wife, son and dogs.

I also count myself very fortunate to have had a wife so understanding and supportive that I can interfere with our hectic daily schedule to put together this comic strip that has been a life long dream of mine. Hopefully you like it.

To give you an idea of the amount of work that goes into this strip, I think I have invested an average of 25 hours a week putting these together for over 9 months now (over 900 hours) and I haven’t made a penny. That’s a HORRIBLE return on my investment…from a monetary standpoint. From a fulfilling a dream standpoint, it’s paid itself of immeasurably. I’ve looked at it as, if I put together something good, people will follow along and someday I can make a buck. Right now I’m having so much fun I don’t mind – I’m just trying to increase readership. With that in mind…

I do have one wish on my “Family Day” and that would be to have you add Rick The Stick into your family or more importantly add your friends or family to Rick The Stick. Rick loves you – so love him back. A side effect of that love is my appreciation.
