Hey guys! The following is from the desk/brain of Todd McElmurry Uber Supporter and frequent commenter of everything Rick. Want to voice your comments too? Start by joining Rick’s world! You don’t have to be an Uber like Todd here, but you can comment any time by clicking on the comic and heading over to the website.

And now Todd’s thoughts:

It’s me again Margaret.  I know, I know, it’s been a while since I posted here, and let me tell ya why.  Because I’ve been busy posting elsewhere, Comments that is, not blogging, I keep that special gift for Rick The Stick.

Comments are what I want to post about today.  We all have a ton of webcomics I’m sure we follow.  Many of you that are visiting this site have webcomics of your own.   One thing I have found is that Webcomickers are a very tight nit group of people that continue to watch out for each other, encourage each other, and love to share ideas with each other.   That being said, as an average reader of webcomics I have found a way that you the reader can help to give back to your favorite webcomicker and let them know you appreciate their hard work and time.  COMMENT!

I have a bunch of webcomics I visit daily, and I have found that taking the time to comment on their sites really helps the webcomic designer get an idea of who their readers are, what they like/dislike about the strip, and helps to encourage that artist to keep doing what they are doing.

So I challenge each of you this week to leave a comment on every webcomic you visit, if they have a place for one.  Let the artist know what you think of their work, the story, or the characters.   Even, as I’ve said in past blogs, interact with the characters too if you wish.   Just get out there and Comment.

    Nice job Todd!

Speaking for myself, it really does get me pumped up to see comments on the comics. It makes me realize that I’m not just here creating this for myself.

Of course, I’m open to any comment as long as it’s not profane or insulting to anyone.

Thanks again for all your support Todd!

Yes, comments are fantastic, and sometimes they are the only thing that keep me going on the comic.

BUT… for me, I have to have something to say other than “nice job” as *all* of the webcomics I follow know I like them, or I wouldn’t be reading them. So, yes, I’m one of those silent types (not my usual style) that likes to chime in when I have something to contribute. If I were to drop by Ken’s site everyday and say “good job” fairly quickly the value of that comment would wear off.

I’m not saying people should not comment at will, that’s up to them, I’m merely stating what *I* personally think and feel here. I read a ton of webcomics and I want the creator to know when a comment from me pops up, it’s of something of value.

    Just my 2-cents….

      Good points Byron.

I have to admit – I’m a sucker for comments. Even if it’s a one liner. Often times it seems like we’re talking to ourselves and it’s great to see comments from people and gives me a boost each day. I’m very appreciative. I used to make the rounds more than I do now – but I’m going to do better. If anyone gets the “high” out of it that I do – then it’s worth it.

That being said – I haven’t been commenting recently but have been making the rounds. There have been changes at work so I have been careful about my online activity. That’s a lame excuse I know…

Happy Birthday again Todd. I appreciate the way you not only support Rick but so many others as well. You are a friend to the whole webcomic community.
Sometimes I think I might comment too much but I know how much I like the comments. I think they really add to a comic.
