Office Space

Monday! Alright – so it’s the start of the work week and I know you had a kick-butt weekend, but that doesn’t mean the fun has to stop does it?

For me, I spent the weekend with my wife and boys paling around with some of the big wigs in college and professional football. Who? Well I don’t like to name names, but I will for you. If you’re familiar with Monday Night Football, you probably have heard of John Gruden right? Then there was Steve Spurrier (University of South Carolina and Gator great), Urban Meyer (former Gator head coach), Ron Zook (University of Illinois), Wayne Fontes (former Detroit Lions head coach) among others. We all sat down for dinner.

Before you ask, it wasn’t at my house. Of course, I would have them over in a heartbeat, but it would be awkward since we removed our dining room table and made that room a kids play area. And if I’m going to be completely honest, it wasn’t just us. Sure they had their wives, but it was an invitation only event and there were about a thousand other people at the Outback Bowl Summer Splash. About the only thing we did was hang in the awesome pool at the Saddlebrook resort and attend the eating events.

Sure I would have liked to golf and hang out at night at the hospitality tent, but I have kids. And awesome one’s at that. Sure they almost made me miss the once in a lifetime chance at watching Gruden, Spurrier, Meyer and even Zook sit down for a Q&A panel. But I love them just the same. And I had an awesome time.

Before I forget, I’m going to take next week off. Adding color to the comic has definitely messed with my timeline and it’s been eating away at my buffer every week and it’s high time I got it back. I need it with the kids. I hope you understand!

Aaaah, it’s Friday and we’re closing out the week with a little insight into the life of Dan the cartoon actor’s life as an agent. Unfortunately, things aren’t going to get much better for Dan next week as he comes across both Rick and Super Stickman in one way or another. There’s a building anger in Dan – I hope he can control himself!

Good morning!

What a great week – I appreciate all the comments! I was really excited and had no idea whether this would work or I could do what I had in mind. I was pretty happy with the way it turned out.

Now as we see, Rick is back with Milton – is that the end of the saga? Next we’ll find out a little bit about the last two weeks. Hope to see you then!!

Multi-Tasking

You know, I normally don’t do this. I don’t usually think the Damdest Damn Blog is the forum to espouse my particular thoughts on some things, well because, sometimes everyone has an opinion and at times debate can get pretty heated and people forget the larger picture. Okay I do all the time, but today is different…

I’m talking about something big that happened last week. REALLY BIG. The reality is that I think it moved the country down a path I am proud to be a part of – and have been waiting for since I was a child. I’m talking about inclusion into one of the prestigious club’s in all our land and something that we never thought would happen in our lifetimes. I’m talking about turning the page, creating a new chapter and recognizing that which has long been overlooked. Something valued, not treasured…until now…

Last week, the Strong National Museum inducted the STICK into the National Toy Hall of Fame. That’s right a stick. And who loves sticks more than RICK THE STICK? I think you see where I’m going. I think Rick The Stick’s image needs to be included in the display for the Stick. Rick the Stick NEEDS to be represented along side his kindling brethren (and no I did not mean kindred).

I encourage you to write to the Strong National Museum to show your support for including Rick The Stick into the Stick display.
