Rick’s very excited about his new position and it appears he’s very detailed, until you get to the details…

NOTE: I just wanted to clarify that the comic will be off next week and I wanted to give another explanation.

We all get time off. We all need time to recharge/rebuild/reenergize – whatever you want to call it. Since I’m producing this comic five days a week – now in color, I’ve decided that I’m going to start taking breaks every quarter. So once every quarter, I’ll take a week off. Not that this is an ideal comparison, but I look at shows like the Daily Show or most other television shows and I noticed they don’t run all year, week after week. Their creative people are given time to reboot, refocus and any other “re” you can fit in there. I realize that I’m messing with continuity of readership, but I’d rather keep producing what I consider to be “continuously improving quality” over jamming something out for the sake of a self-imposed timeline. As you can see by my rambling, I could use a break. I appreciate you reading the comic, commenting and retweeting, hopefully we’ll see you after the break too!

Good morning!

Tomorrow starts C2E2 – c’mon Chicago – let’s see you out there!!

I’m pretty happy with the way this comic turned out – in particular the shading. I think at some point I’m going to move to color and I think this one is a good indicator of how close I am. One thing I’d hate to consider is the cost of books in color. Ugh!

Deputy McTrust

Deputy McTrust, was brought in by Winchester to test Rick’s ability to handle a real-life situation on his life. He was introduced as Super Stickman’s assistant, which turned out to be a role he really liked. His past is undisclosed (in particular, why he’s also known as Jake to Winchester) but he played the part flawlessly and really earned both Super Stickman and Rick’s trust.

Dan the Stickman

Dan is a Cartoon Actor’s agent. He is very successful and rich and doesn’t have a problem telling everyone about it. In fact, he wanted to be even more unique so he stood out wherever he went. This led him to surgery (graphic enhancement) ultimately turning him into a perfectly symmetrical stick figure. The problem is – he didn’t know there was one more stick figure left in the world. Now he wants to have that distinction and will do anything to make sure that happens.
