It's Hammer Time! The Warrior (not so much)

damndest The Warrior (not so much)

Good morning!

Okay so it seems Rick is still struggling with the whole Super Stickman alter ego thing. If you missed last weeks strips, this may help.

The second panel is a movie reference that goes back – waaaay back to 1979 – ‘The Warriors‘! There’s one line in the movie where everyone is hunting a gang called the – well duh – Warriors and one guy says in a real annoying way “Warriors, come out and play-i-ay“.

Thanks for dropping by!
Ken

The warriors was nothing compared to Red Dawn

Great flick. But The Warriors has that line that sticks in my head. It’s a big head with a little brain…

  2. Bo Lumpkin

Red Dawn was one of my favorites but I don’t remember anyone coming out to play or hitting themselves in the head with a hammer. I might be getting confused again.

OK Rick, there’s got to be a better way to get in touch with Super Stickman. Also, were’d you get that hammer, it’s huge. Almost expected it to make a squeaky sound when it hit. :)

Nice, a Warriors reference. I’ll have to agree with Bearman that Red Dawn was definitely better than the Warriors, but in a completely different genre though. The Warriors was definitely a very cool movie in it’s time. Speaking of the Warriors and Red Dawn, both are being remade, and should have a 2011 release date. Red Dawn for sure, Warriors is still in pre-production.

The squeaky sound line had me rolling Todd – great comment!

I have to confess… I’ve never actually seen The Warriors, but whenever that title comes up I have a vivid image of Pat Benatar singing, “Shootin’ at the walls of heartache, bang, bang, I am the warrior…” GREAT! Now I’ll have that song stuck in my head all day! Thanks, Dave’s Brain!

Pat Benatar probably stole fashion tips from that movie…

I think you have to be clinking Coke bottles together when you say it.

  6. Dan

I’m with Bearman and Bo, Red Dawn all the way.

    Wolverines!!!

Also – when I clicked on the comments I had no idea I would see a discussion of Pat Benatar’s fashion sense. Way to keep me guessing!
