In today’s comic, Rick is ready to trade anything for his new robot friend.
In other news, I have a big announcement regarding the comic. Beginning next week, I’m going to take some time off – throughout the rest of the year to be specific.
Among other reasons, the most important is that my son is turning one soon and the family and I are going to be doing a lot of traveling this holiday season. It’s a very exciting time and I’d like to concentrate on that. There are 900 comics in the archives, which is a ton of comics for anyone to dive into.
Some things to note – I’ll be working on the comic behind the scenes, the store and setting up an ad schedule for next year. I’ll also be trying to finish my children’s book so I can give it to my son for xmas. I’ll also continue to write articles for the Webcomic Alliance – so I won’t be disappearing, but I wanted to let people who come to the site know there is a reason I won’t be posting current comics until the beginning of 2012.
I’ll also be posting this message in every comic post this week.
Yeah, you knew there was something up with those tots if Rick was parting with them so quickly. Rick’s really starting to sound like a financial leader, “Everything is for sale – What’s your price?”
Man, you know I’ll miss the updates but I’m so excited you have this opportunity to take off and celebrate baby boys 1st Birthday, do some travellin’ and get that cool kids book ready to surprise Rocketboy on Christmas. Can’t wait to see what January has in store for Rick the Stick and the gang. I’m going to have to visit the site at least 10 to 20 times a day for the next 5 days to get my feel before this break. I’ll keep the home fires burning, spread Rick the Stick love by RT’ing those Archive posts, and do what I can to get some new readers over to start diggin’ thru those archives.
Have an awesome week.
Well, well, burnt tots. ..the going price for a robot. I think I can scrape up a few ..
I’ll miss my Rick, but I spend a lot of time in the archives anyway as a new reader, so in actuality, thank you! I’d really like to read ALL your comics. this keeps me from being distracted by the new ones
And 1 .. that’s big time in kids’ years. Take the time, for you, your son, your entire family. It goes by so quickly (says the mom who has a son turning 17 in Jan)
Can’t wait to hear all the updates in January. Now get to that book, you only have how many illustrating/writing days til xmas??
